If you or a loved one is struggling with drug abuse and dependence, you’re not alone. Today, millions of Americans are fighting against substance use disorders and almost 1 in 10 of us now meet the diagnosing standards of a substance use disorder or “addiction”. At Sober Solutions, we know that the way forward is comprehensive care, touching on every aspect of mental, behavioral, social, and physical health, to put you in the right place to recover.
What is Drug Rehab?
Drug rehab at Sober Solutions is a multi-step treatment program, designed to move you from physical dependence and addiction to recovering while still getting the support you need to keep going.
Our process starts with medically supervised detoxification in our clinic, followed by behavioral therapy and counseling to help you move past cravings, undo some of the damage done by drug abuse, and start to build new habits and patterns that will support your healthy life.
This includes group therapy where you can work with your peers, make friends, and learn from each other, with the support of therapists, nurses, licensed counselors, and our medical staff. And, of course, every program is supplemented with good food, activities outdoors in beautiful Southern California, and exercise – to help you improve nutrition, mental health, physical health, and habits. We deliver a comprehensive range of complimentary therapies ranging from sports to nutrition to the arts to help you build the skills you need to live a happy and healthy life without drugs when you leave.
Of course, when you do leave, we’ll still be there.
Our Alumni programs and aftercare support mean you’ll always be able to reach out, to get the ongoing help you need, and to stay in touch with your peers.

Sober Solutions Drug Treatment
From the minute you step inside our door, Sober Solutions will work to ensure you have a personalized approach to treatment.
We understand that everyone faces unique problems and challenges. What works for you might not work for someone else. However, most of our drug treatment programs will follow the same general process.
Travel
If you’re traveling to Southern California from out of state, one of our counselors can help you to set up the travel and ensure you’ll be picked up at the airport to move to our facility. That ensures you’re able to arrive safely and with a minimum of stress.
Intake
You’ll be provided with a list of things to pack when making arrangements. Once you arrive, we’ll check what you’ve brought to ensure that your belongings comply with the rules and that they are safe for everyone. From there, we’ll start checking you in, which includes paperwork, basic health and mental health assessments, and health tests to ensure we understand your physical and mental condition and have a baseline to start offering treatment. From there, we’ll move you into detox, while working on a personalized program based on those assessments.
Detox
Most people who come to Sober Solutions need to detox and that means spending time in our clinic to safely withdraw from drugs. Depending on you, your medical history, and how we intend to treat you, your path forward may be with medication assisted treatment (MAT), a social detox, or with light medication to ease symptoms and nothing else. We’ll discuss your options with you and help you to choose the best option for your needs.
Often, you can expect the following timelines:
Opioids
Anyone using painkillers, heroin, or other opioids can expect major withdrawal symptoms for 1-2 weeks. If you’re using slow-release painkillers, that can extend to as long as one month. Sober Solutions may offer medication-assisted programs like Buprenorphine or Suboxone, but we may determine that you’re better off with a non-medication-assisted program.
Benzodiazepines
if you’re addicted to benzodiazepines such as Valium, Xanax, Ativan, etc., withdrawal is difficult and can take time. In most cases, you’ll need a tapering schedule to get off benzodiazepines safely. However, we may also recommend that you quit and receive medical support depending on the quantity and duration of use. In most cases, benzodiazepine withdrawal takes around 14 days.
Amphetamines
Amphetamines ranging from prescription drugs like Ritalin to street drugs like methamphetamine often have a similar withdrawal profile. Here, you’ll normally move past the worst of withdrawal symptoms in about a week, after which you can move back into the general population and start getting to know your peers.
Treatment
Once you move out of detox, you start treatment, although there will almost always be overlaps. For example, you may start going to therapy or attending group classes from the moment we think you’re healthy enough to focus. In addition, you’ll always receive counseling and emotional support even when in detox.
Sober Solutions uses a holistic approach, combining psychotherapy with counseling and with complementary therapies.
Behavioral Therapy
In every case, you’ll receive behavioral therapy like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR). These therapies are considered front-line treatments for substance use disorder because they help you to “reprogram” behaviors including thought processes, reactions, and habits. Behavioral therapy can help you to find and heal the underlying problems behind substance abuse, giving you the option to rebuild your life with the tools to deal with those problems. This includes family therapy, which is designed to help you rebuild your relationships with family and improve life at home, motivation therapy, and other treatment options that don’t directly treat substance use disorder but rather the underlying causes of it.
Counseling
Counseling offers the support and emotional support to deal with cravings, substance abuse, relationship problems, and a range of other issues. Sober Solutions staffs counselors specializing in substance use disorders and recovery, with the intent of giving you the full support you need to move beyond those problems.
Medication
Sober Solutions is a fully licensed and accredited rehabilitation center offering medication-assisted treatment for drug detox and for maintenance programs. This means you have the option to choose or be recommended to a MAT program, which may help you to build life skills, stability, and support networks before having to deal with cravings.
Complementary Treatment
At Sober Solutions, we know that substance use disorders are normally a symptom of other problems. Whether self-medication, stress, mental health problems, etc., you use because you don’t feel good in your daily life. That’s why we offer a range of complementary therapies and programs to help you build physical fitness, learn stress and anger management, learn emotional coping skills, relationship management, and home skills like nutrition, time management, etc., so you can get and stay healthy. Availability varies but we will do our best to ensure you have access to a full set of treatment options to complement your recovery.
Dual Diagnosis
17 million Americans, or almost half of all people with a substance use disorder, have a substance use disorder and a mental health disorder. Unfortunately, mental health disorders very often get in the way of traditional drug addiction treatment. For this reason, if you have a co-occurring disorder, it’s important that we be able to diagnose and treat that disorder at the same time, to remove blockers and to ensure you have the mental health to focus on and invest in recovery and treatment. Sober Solutions offers a full dual diagnosis treatment program.
Aftercare
Treatment shouldn’t stop just because you graduate our program. Sober Solutions offers long-term aftercare solutions including follow-up treatment, ongoing counseling, and help you need moving into sober assisted living, finding work, or moving into a self-help group like AA, NA, or SMART Recovery. We also offer ongoing events and meetups for our alumni so you can stay in touch.
All of our drug treatment programs are delivered by trained and licensed staff, each an expert in his or her own field. Our hiring process includes vetting staff for compassion, passion, and the ability to connect with the people under our care because we know that makes a difference.
